Preparing for your spray tanning
Exfoliate your entire body, either the night before or the morning of your tanning appointment.
Use a pumice stone on your feet if necessary.
It is best to shave or wax at least 8 hours before your tan.
You may use nail varnish as it will also protect the nails against browning effects of the tanning solution.
Do not apply moisturizer, deodorant or perfume before your tan.
If you do not want your face to be tanned, you may ware make- up.
Wear a dark coloured bikini or underwear to be tanned in. Most ladies prefer to tan topless.
Long hair should be tied up.
Wear a hair cap especially if you have light coloured hair.
Barrier cream may be applied to the palms, elbows and soles to avoid these very dry areas to absorbing too much of the solution.
Bring lose dark clothing and open shoes to change into after your tan.
For the first 6 to 8 hours after your tan do not
Bath, shower or swim.
Do any exercise that will result in perspiration.
Apply lotion or make- up.
Wear tight fitting clothing.
6 to 8 hours after your tan
Shower or bath to get all the bronzer off
Dab skin dry rather than rubbing with the towel.
Moisturize the entire body well.
Maintaining and prolonging your tan
Avoid long hot showers and baths.
Avoid swimming in swimming pools with a high chlorine content.
Moisture daily.
The use of water resistant sun block can help to prolong the tan when on the beach or swimming.
The use of moisturizers containing DHA like AVIVA Labs SkinGlo will prolong the tan.
